Editor,
While the Evergreen Editorial Board was correct in pointing out that students not receiving their financial aid is a real issue, the board's anger and frustration is misdirected. Not every problem that occurs in the world is someone else’s fault.
Computer systems fail - It's a part of the world we live in, and the administration’s top priority should not be dealing with student reporters from The Daily Evergreen, but fixing the problem at hand.
What should be noted is how hard the employees at the Department of Financial Aid and Scholarships have been working to correct this issue. They should be congratulated and supported by the students of WSU, because they have shown a dedication to making sure we are all financially secure, as fast as possible. It would be great if The Daily Evergreen could show them the respect they deserve.

It's hard to give kudos to a department that can't and won't answer questions. That has failed to distribute ANY of this senior's(with a disabled child, rent, books, childcare and food to pay for) financial aid. Perhaps Joey is one of the fortunates that either does not need to rely heavily on loans (that the college was disbursed on the 10th of August) or already has his aid.
When I contacted financial aid to ask the status of my loan (which I was instructed to do) they said "what do you want to know" and the only answer they had after looking up my file was "we have all of your paperwork (turned in months ago) and hopefully we can get you your funds soon". When I asked if I should call back in a week the lady on the phone said "you could, but it probably wouldn't do you any good". So yay for the excellent customer service at financial aid. And kudos to you Joey for standing up to them.
