Kenneth D. Hummel, an 18-year-old freshman from Lynnwood died early Saturday morning after members #inline_iamge(1279 3397 250 250' fright')
of Stephenson South residence hall found him unconscious in a dorm room.

The cause of death is still unknown, and the investigation is ongoing, said Cpl. Matt Kuhrt of the WSU Police Department. No foul play is suspected.

The police received a 911 call from the residence hall at 2:30 a.m. Saturday. Those who found the student performed CPR on him until medics arrived, Kuhrt said. Hummel was then transported to Pullman Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Hummel was not a resident of the dorm. Kuhrt said police have notified the student's family.
