I was disgusted that a newspaper would run an article tarnishing the name of a young man who has not been convicted of a crime.
Exposure be damned, it was completely unfair to include the alleged perpetrator’s name. Rape is an accusation that should not be leveled or taken lightly, and the same rule applies when reporting on it.
I understand that the paper was just doing its job, but as the famous retort goes, “So were the guards at Auschwitz.”
